The Japan Ski night, a special event organized by Hokkaido Tourism Organization, Hokkaido Ski Promotion Council and Nagano/Niigata Snow Resort Alliance for people in Tourism industry has just held at RACV City Club, Melbourne on 23rd of May.

It was the day before the Snow Travel Expo, held annually at Melbourne Convention Centre and we had about 100 of people joined for this exclusive night from both Japan and Australia, who have relation to Ski resort and tourism.

Needless to say, the ski resorts in Japan has good reputation for both local Japanese and people from overseas. Especially the number of tourists from Australia hasn’t stopped growing the last 20 years. Almost 50,000 of Australians are visiting Japan in a peak season. (according to Japanese tourism record.)

There were 12 famous ski resorts from all over Japan, having their own booth and introducing its benefits and specialty to the audience.

The name of the resorts are below.
Furano, Kiroro, Niseko, Tomamu and Rusutsu from Hokkaido
Appi, Hakoda from Tohoku
Myoko, Madarao, Nozawa onsen, Shigakogen and Hakuba from Chuo-Hokuriku reqion

Traditional Japanese home cooking winter food with matching sake and Japanese beer were served for the guests, like Kasujiru (Seafood Miso Soup), Nikujyaga (Stewed potato and pork), and Chawan-mushi (Savory pudding).
Those tasty Japanese food is also the main attraction for tourists as well.

The Japanese Ski resorts are putting efforts on having promotion events during Summer for people love winter sports like Australians, also the best time because it would be in winter period in this country.

It was a wonderful night for both guests and organizers to exchange the latest information for the next ski season.

As you see many tourists in ski resorts in Japan now, we cannot miss these persistent efforts by the tourism organizations.
It is very exciting to see how this industry will be the next few years.
