EastWest College was founded in 1978 and remains as Australia's longest historical and traditional institution for the delivery of training in the professional practices of Relaxation, Therapeutic, Remedial Massage, Shiatsu, Oriental and Complimentary therapies.
Since its foundation, more than 2,000 graduates now work as natural health therapists within Australia as well as around the world in such countries as England, Sweden, Italy and France.
Original Japanese Shiatsu now attracts attention not only in Japan but also throughout the rest of the world.
Utilising a balanced approach, EastWest College students can learn eastern practices, such as oriental therapy and Shiatsu, as well as western massage practices, such as remedial, sports and relaxation.

Features at EastWest College

1. You can learn theory and practice in a balanced fashion!

EastWest values not only classroom learning but also hands-on practice. There are weekly Supervised Student Clinics at the college, with student's practicing their massage and shiatsu skills to general public clients.
Through practicing on actual local customers as well as other students, students learn in a realistic manner, how to give massage according to the characteristics of each client as well as the delivery of excellent customer service. Naturally, all the questions students may have during practice can be answered at any time by the supervisors' who are present or through the review conducted after the clinic. This gives student's confidence when they start actual work in the field.

2. You can learn in a small-sized class in a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

In a small-sized class teachers can pay attention to each individual student, which results in solid learning. This is very important in learning massage with its emphasis on practice. In addition, all the teachers are friendly with lots of experience while still being active professionals. EastWest is proud of its warm and welcoming atmosphere, which you cannot get in larger colleges.
The students are all close and helpful to each other. Students across the years look after each other and give and take advice from each other in a cosy and friendly atmosphere.

3. It offers a flexible timetable!

Classes are offered day, evening and weekends with flexible study options. Therefore, students can work while also studying at EastWest. Many students choose this college because you can obtain qualifications while working. Most of the current students have jobs or children. There are many students in their 30s to 50s wishing for a career change at the college.

4. Your tuition is the same as Aussies' !

Many colleges offer courses with high tuition course fees for international students, but you can take courses with the same cost of tuition as domestic students (this applies if you apply to the college directly). Tuition Fees at EastWest are very reasonable compared to other colleges.

5. You can learn in an environment with an international atmosphere!

A number of international students from overseas come here because classes on Japanese traditional Shiatsu are offered in English. You can hear Italian, Spanish and of course Japanese on campus. This is an exciting college with an international atmosphere. Furthermore, there is a Japanese student Support Officer, who has been in Australia for more than 20 years, to help you with course information and advice in Japanese.

6. You will have an advantage in obtaining a job!

There has been a boom in natural therapy and natural healing in Australia, and facilities for massage therapies have been established across Australia in the past few years. This has resulted in an increased demand for massage therapists.
After graduation from EastWest College, students can obtain qualifications certified by the Australian government, and there should be no difficulty obtaining a job at clinics, spas or medical centres.

If you are looking for marketable skills, why not study at EastWest College with it's history of achievements?
