Craft Sake Week at Horse Bazaar!

Melbourne takes pride in their food and wine culture, and with a number of sake based events popping up all over Melbourne, we have all the more reason to be proud of our rich and diverse food and wine culture.

Much like craft beer, sake also has its very own line-up of craft sake. To promote this, a craft sake showcase will be held every Tuesday night at Horse Bazaar, in Melbourne’s CBD. We have products from 11 different breweries to show over the coming months, with each breweries’ products being changed out  every second Tuesday.

The showcase starts next Tuesday, the 2nd of May 2017.

Hokkaido-based brewery, Takasago Shuzo is the first in the line-up. (Available on the 2nd and 9th of May.)

They will be showcasing their:

Tokubetsu Junmaishu (approx. $12)

Junmaishu ($11)

They will also have “Special Otsumami” available! Otsumami is a small dish, similar to a canape to be enjoyed with alcohol. Generally, it’s translated as a “beer snack”, but you can enjoy it with wine or sake too! The Otsumami has been created to be paired with the sake!

On its own, the Special Otsumami is $12, but you can also purchase it as a set with the sake for $20!

The event starts from 4pm on the Tuesday! So, make sure you get down to Horse Bazaar try it out!

The next brewery in the line-up is Bunraku from Saitama Prefecture! Their craft sake will be available on the 16th and 23rd of May at Horse Bazaar.

Horse Bazaar has a fun and friendly atmosphere and is great for these sorts of events. We’re very much looking forward to attending and we hope to see you there!
