The seaweed series of Yamagataya is available as a gift item in Ichiba Junction.
Yamagataya was established in Nihonbashi, Tokyo by Sohachi Kubota who came out of Oshu in the Edo era (1764); and their history is more than 240 years. The name of the shop yearned for the far-off hometown Yamagata prefecture and to be named.
Yamagataya where continue following tradition from generation to generation and still notice at a position as a long-established store of "nori seaweed" in Japan.
They exhibited nori seaweed at a world great exhibition held in France in the Meiji era and continue making a taste to be left in the history.
Assortment of nori seaweed requires abundant knowledge and long time experience. By checking colour, lustre, taste, texture and then they choose only high quality nori seaweed.
In addition, with the soup stock which selected carefully to "seasoned seaweed", as for the synthetic colouring agent, synthetic preservatives, there are feelings not to use at all a chemical seasoning.
